Medical Respirator Certification

Health-Metrics, Inc. provides the medical respirator certifications for some clients who ask us to provide the ‘licensed healthcare professional’ and coordinate that program. We work with a qualified Occupational Physician who requires annual spirometric testing in addition to the required questionnaire. After review of all documentation, he will certify the employee at an appropriate level of activity for one year.

Services include:

• A supply of the required respiratory questionnaires (modified with additional questions) for the involved employees and initial review of same during the test session
• Blood pressure immediately prior to testing - no spirometry test is performed in the presence of a diastolic measure of 100 or greater or if otherwise medically contraindicated
• All spirometric procedures conducted by NIOSH certified technicians according to current American Thoracic Society procedures
• Individualized employee certification letter and employee wallet card, good for one year, noting the approved level of certification (no restrictions, moderate exertion, mild exertion, emergency/training only, etc) for each employee
